The Red Heads have been going full force for a good hour and finally conked out for a nap. lol
They’re growing up so fast! They’ll be 7 weeks on Tuesday. I hope to get them microchipped this weekend and they’ll be going for their vet check next week. Their second shots will be given at the 8 week mark.
They’ll be ready to go the week of the 12th. We’ll be getting in touch with people who have sent in a deposit and setting up times for them to come meet their new bundle of joy soon.

We are sorry to report that the Reardon family has lost a beloved pet. Madison, my mom’s Jack Russell, passed at 15yrs old last night about 3am.
She was my mom’s dog but my first agility dog.
she’ll be missed.

Rat Terriers are on the AKC Point Schedule starting May 2013!!!!
We’re considering entering our first AKC show in August of this year since one is held just up the road from us in Roanoke area.

Hey guys, we’ve had a female pick open up due to some unforeseen circumstances. I’ll try to get video and pictures up tomorrow afternoon. Time got away from me today.
Rescue
Yesterday I helped rescue a young pup from our local pound. He’s a shepherd mix with a cuddle bear personality named Rolo (by the shelter). He’s heading to his new, forever home in Botetourt county Saturday morning.
I help rescue, foster, network pound puppies (and dogs) because we breed responsibly. I feel it’s my responsibility to help since we are breeding so from time to time you’ll see a dog listed here that might not fit our ‘MO’. I’m also considering applying to become one of the Rat Terrier specific rescues’ foster home. In my 10yrs of rescue I’ve actually pulled 2 Rat Terriers from our local shelter, one was a black tri named Tucker & the most recent, hard of hearing one, Carter.
I started my own personal dog rescue my first year of college, Tender Heart Rescue, and I’ve worked closely with the local Humane Society and Animal Welfare League through the years. Was actually a founding member of the Welfare League and joined the Humane Society not long after it’s formation.
*Remember — your local Humane Societies are not linked to the Humane Society of the United States, the HSUS does not actually help local shelters. If you want to donate your $$ (or time) to help pets, DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL SHELTERS AND RESCUES. They also appreciate food, collars, leashes, bedding, treats & toys.
Rolo will be receiving the new name of ‘Ruger’ and two Brittany Spaniel siblings.

I’ve started basic evaluations now that the puppies are coming into their own. They’ll be posted in their gallery albums.
Puppies will be getting their first worming this weekend and first vaccines the beginning of next week…. They’re growing up so quickly!I’m so please with this litter, I’m thinking one of our prettiest yet, I look forwards to watching these guys grow up and have high hopes of them be positive ambassadors for this wonderful breed.
