Ms Braidy & Mr Louie found new homes today. Braidy is beach bound for perpetual vacation and Louie’s going over the mountain. It was a sad/happy day here. I know these two are in wonderful homes that will lavish them with all the love they can handle. I also get to see Louie again in a few weeks. 🙂
Looks like we currently have 1 male pick & 1 female pick available out of our current litter, may change, I’ll keep you all posted.

New pictures posted of puppies, they were 3 weeks Tuesday.
Puppy cam is up and running, they are finally moving and more interesting to watch.
I was nominated by the American Rat Terrier Association board to be their 2013 -2014 Secretary! How exciting.
STOP FEEDING Beneful!
Beneful dog food is a popular brand. Unfortunately over the last two to three months, pet owners have seen their dogs become ill after eating this food, based on reports on the Consumer Affairs website. Some pets are more sensitive than others, and their symptoms can include any of the following, sometimes more than one:
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Excessive water drinking
- Lethargy
- Weight loss
- Seizures
- Bloat (this is life threatening to a dog)
- Kidney failure
- Liver failure
- Death

Got up new pictures of puppies!
Tails/Dewclaws
The puppies had their tails and dewclaws done Friday evening. We’re a fan of docked tails here though we were sad to see the cute white tips go in this litter.
We nip and snip ourselves to put as little stress on mom, the pups and me as possible. Also limits exposure to the nasties. I’m perfectly fine with doing tails myself, using the banding process as described in How to dock tails by Darice Ragan of RaganRat Terriers, but when it comes to dewclaws, I tried it once and cried with the puppy. So needless to say, I now enlist help. Luckily I’ve made a new doggie friend, Valerie Yarber from Paramount Aussies, down the road who has experience doing them herself so she came to the rescue.
Everyone is doing great. They are 1 week old today!

Chewy, Onyx, & D2 all found homes this weekend!
Chewy is going as a falconry dog prospect to flush game for the birds.
Onyx is a ‘bunk mate’ for one of our military.
D2 is a companion for a lady who fell in love with our dogs through a mutual friend.
Life is good! Will be watching for picture updates on these guys!

We’re losing one of our little boys. Even with a heating pad, supplemental feeding, & one on one time he’s just not progressing as he should. 🙁
Everyone else seems to be thriving. So we will probably be left with 8, 2 boys and 6 girls, who we are very excited to watch grow.

Nimh Kennel welcomed our newest arrivals into the world way early this morning!
Rori gave birth to 9 puppies! 3 boys and 6 girls!
She did it like a pro, didn’t need my interference after she got the hang of it after the first two. Everyone was eating when I left them this morning to go to work.
They’ll have their first vet visit on Friday to get dewclaws and tails done.
All puppies are a form of ‘sable’, either red or chocolate. We’re brushing up on our genetics to better understand this pattern and label each puppy correctly.
We do have piebald, irish & tux patterns though!
We are taking applications from interested families.
We’re excited to watch these little ones grow!
Please feel free to watch along side us via our puppy cam. 🙂
